ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Now in its 13th year, the Linda B. Floyd Campus Safety Conference is designed to address several issues surrounding safety on campuses, sexual violence and abuse in higher education environments, and Title IX legal/compliance issues. This year’s conference: The Heart and Design: Understanding Higher Education’s Response to Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence, will have a pragmatic format directed to campus safety officers, student personnel administrators and college/university officials. The conference will place emphasis on training by nationally recognized experts – Gary J. Margolis, Steven J. Healy of Margolis Healy & Associates, and Jeffrey J. Nolan of Dinse, Knapp, & McAndrew /MH&A. This team of presenters has considerable experience in higher education safety and security with real, everyday applications. This year’s conference will be based on the most recent legal requirements, best practices and institutional approaches in Title IX compliance. Campus safety conference participants will gain practical advice and direction, and a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities in gender and sexual violence response compliance; especially as it relates to building and maintaining a comprehensive institutional compliance strategy.
This is an excellent opportunity for student personnel and college administrators as well as campus safety law enforcement professionals to learn from and discuss the issues with their colleagues around the state and region.
NOTE: 9.0 Credit Hours of CEU’s will be given by The South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and The Office of Victim’s Services to attendees that stay for complete conference.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The conference is open to all college and university administrators, faculty and staff (especially health and wellness counselors, mental health professionals, judicial affairs officers, housing/residence life personnel, campus law enforcement or security/safety officers, victim’s advocates), school resource officers, as well as local, state and federal law enforcement personnel.
